Dryad
Dryads are the sentient trees that live in the Great Forest, on the east of Turien. They are known as 'Turien's Children' and follow what they think will be fun. Although they have roots, they can shift them at will, often only rooting in place while they are sleeping, especially in their younger years. As they get older (after a few handfuls of centuries) they tend to root down in a particular place, such as the two known as the Great Forest's Entrance.
When rooted, Dryads absorb various nutrients and magic. The longer they want to live, the longer they are to put their roots down. This is why you won't often see Dryads living life in their Human form (at least not at night).
Once seeded a single Dryad will watch the birth and childhood of their child. Dryads only know one parent, but often play amongst each other and are raised by the many around them.
