Orcus

The Goat Lord of Death

Orcus is the god of the undead, known as the Shadow Lord. His desire is to see all life quenched, and the world transformed into a vast necropolis populated solely by undead creatures under his command. Orcus rewards those who spread death in his name by granting them a small portion of his power. The least of these become ghouls and zombies who serve in his legions, while his favored servants are the cultists and necromancers who murder the living and then manipulate the dead, emulating their dread master.
Orcus rules the Shadowfell, a plain of despair and undeath. Among the gods, his archenemy is Minerva.
The worship of Orcus is banned in the Roman Empire, which has driven it underground. There are secret cults of Orcus in some major cities. The penalty for Orcus-worship in the Empire is death. Consequently, little is known about these cults, and they keep their activities secret.

Grimoire of the Goat Lord - A set of scrolls detailing rituals for worshipping Orcus. Non-magical, highly blasphemous. There are several sheets of what look like animal hide-based parchment, written in red ink (investigation DC 12 - blood). Across the top of each sheet is written the Latin phrase Orcus Dominatibur ("Orcus shall rule"). Most of the text is horrifying and would make a person's skin crawl, describing rituals to create risen corpses, methods of draining blood from victims, use of human sacrifice, how to properly burn flesh, and the like
