Qualifications

To become a Defender of Gaia-Stella, you must have skills that can be found in any competent adventurer. Being good at combat, magic, and the like are all skills that can allow you to become a Defender.

Payment & Reimbursement

Whenever a major job is completed, members will be granted large amounts of payment. Gaia-Stella gives the choice to either be paid monetarily or with materials such as weapons, gear, or even magic items. Some members may also be given downtime.

Purpose

Defenders of Gaia-Stella work for the Gaia-Stella Organization. Their main purpose is to embark on trans-planar journeys in order to fix the anomolies of the planes beyond. These journey's are crucial, as ignoring these rips in the weave can potentially lead to a planar-wide instability event, endangering all life on the material plane.

Social Status

Most of the world doesn't really know of the existence of the Defenders of Gaia-Stella. The position is very much a "if you know, you know." Members are usually told to not reveal their position to anyone that isn't affiliated with GSO.

Workplace

Currently, Defenders of Gaia-Stella work at Osservatoria Primaria. This observatory is where their primary transport area is at. The inter-planar portal is located within the heart of OP.

Dangers & Hazards

The majorly obvious hazard of this job is the fact that you are sent into another plane of existence in a small group of less than 10 people. When sent to the other plane of existence, danger is part of the job, as members are basically thrown into the world that is completely alien to them. Their only form of communcation is through the text-bassed Tablet of Communication. If one were to die during one their journeys, their soul may potentially never make it back home.   And then there are the technical hazards. Because your body is being transported to another plane of existence, a lot of issues can occur. Prototypes of the trans-planar portal have yielded results known as "transport sickness" which, while harmless, is very uncomfortable to deal with. And then there is the problem of the planar teleportation itself. If calibrations are improperly locked in, members may end up getting transported to an unintended area that may be too far from the situation that they need to be at. At best, this may cause an extra few days of travel. At worst, the travelers may be thrown into a flat-out dangerous location with no way out.
