The Rings of Ilyena are a marvel of artifice-made engineering, a set of titanic gears that rotate endlessly through an alternate plane of existence. It is said that the Goddess Ilyena herself founded the rings over two and a half millennia ago, imbuing them with her divine power and wisdom. The gears are a testament to her vision of knowledge and innovation, a place where mortals and immortals alike can study the mysteries of the universe.

As one approaches the Rings of Ilyena, the first thing that strikes the senses is the perpetual lighting that bathes the entire city in a warm, sunset-like glow. The weather is always the same, and visitors often remark on the chilly and windy conditions that prevail.
The Rings of Ilyena are divided into three main gears, each with its own unique character. Huwei Island Ring is the highest and smallest gear, containing the wealthiest and top-performing guild members, with fully terraformed lands and a large lake. Bushan Ring is the central and largest gear, home to the majority of the population and a mix of agriculture, waterways, and mechanical ground, partially terraformed. The lowest gear, Soul Ring, is entirely mechanical, and a place where refugees, visitors, foreign shoppers, local merchants, and the poor congregate. Access to the various gears of the Rings of Ilyena is determined by payment at the portals, with the cost varying depending on one's status and education.
