After witnessing the destruction of several harengon villages to dragon attacks, Sphagnum began to read books on battlefield management and fortifications. Using this newfound knowledge, the former modest turnip farmer rounded up his village and founded the city of Yelle, a harengon bastion against aerial raids situated in the northern mountains of the Edge. Using clever trade negotiations and offering access to unique mountain resources, Sphagnum bartered with Lakulaka of the Craftsmen Consortium to develop custom Hare-Trigger Ballistae, or anti-dragon weapons designed for use by harengon warriors. Under Sphagnum's military doctrines, the harengon of The Edge have begun to take arms, against their typically peaceful nature.
Sphagnum is stated to be a bit severe in his interactions, with his home displaying the various heads of creatures he has slain.
