Rabenturm auf Ashenfeldt

Rabenturm auf Ashenfeldt, also known as the City of Skilled Hands, Forge of Prausterland, and the Jewel of the North, was the largest metropolis and city-state in northern Preamor, located on the eastern border. It was a crowded city of commerce and opportunity, perhaps the most prosperous and influential merchant city on the weastern border of Prausterland . Despite its long-standing presence as a neutral power, the lords of Rabenturm were members of the___

Government

As of 10 AC, the city was ruled fairly and justly by Lord Brand Ashfield an aging, veteran adventurer and devout worshiper of Mystra. As such, the Ravilian followed a Mystran faith that promoted knowledge and creativity, with bookburning being an absolute taboo. Lord Brand ensured that the city is well defended before his death, both physically and magically, against attacks or infiltration.

Defences

As of 43 AC, Rabenturm had a standing army, the Graycloaks, composed of 600 archers and spearmen, that doubled as a city guard and patrolled the High Road from wall to wall. If the city's walls were threatened by orcs or other attackers, the defenders could catapult explosive missiles down on the attackers. Both missiles and the specially designed catapults were devised by the best 'skilled hands' of the city's namesake. In desperate situations, Lord Eldridge could call upon the mages of the order of the Gray Feather for help.

Industry & Trade

Around 1370 AC, Rabenturm controlled much of the mining trade from dwarf outposts from the nearby Ironhills by using hidden ways in various warehouses in the city. It also did good trade in stonework from the Rabenturm quarry. Rabenturm traded mostly with the nearby city of Sturmhafen. However, Rabenturm's true assets were its importance as a center of craftwork, learning, and magical innovation. Merchants and crafters usually practiced their works in buildings dedicated for such tasks. Street vendors were rarely seen in Rabenturm.   With the destruction of Rabenturm in 43 AC, trade came to a total halt in the region.   The death of Salvador Bronson  and the Battle of The Alliance of Salvation occurred in 1 PC. Three years after the battle, Rabenturm was rebuilt by Brandt Korbinan von Ashenfeldt auf Rabenturm, who had killed the dealt the final blow to the would-be-godling and archlich and was the descendant of Aldehram Badurad von Ashenfeldt auf Rabenturm and only child of Lord Girion Volkram Rochus von Aschenfeldt. Rabenturm soon again enjoyed prosperity: Brandt founded the City-state of Rabenturm auf Aschenfeldt. the city was rebuilt and grew wealthy from traffic with Deephome, Sturmhafen and Pausterland at large. Its people became known as Rabenturmers, after their new home.
