Kahi

Goddess of Freedom, Luck, and Travel

Kahi is typically depicted as a Matui woman with long black hair and covered in various tattoos. She is often portrayed carrying her favored weapon, a greatclub in the shape of a Matui oar. She believes that everyone should be free to choose their own path in life and be allowed to pursue it. While she understands the need for some societies to form laws and a social structure, she also fully understands that such things are not for her. Kahi teaches that travel is like a breath of fresh air for the soul and that being robbed of the opportunity to travel and see new places and things is how the mind and soul stagnates. She promotes seeking out new experiences, testing the boundaries of society, and breaking the mold. Kahi lives in the moment, savoring each new experience as they come. She is a reveler and a gambler in life, taking chances and dealing with the consequences as they come. Kahi is also extremely competitive and enjoys friendly sport.   Worshippers of Kahi are usually explorers, wayfinders, and vagabonds. Gamblers and athletes will also sometimes offer up a prayer to Kahi for luck. Because worship of Kahi first originated in the Kanoloa Archipelago, many customs and traditions of the Kanoloan people have bled into Kahi's clergy. Many of her worshippers don't even realize the origins of these customs. For example, many of Kahi's followers carry her favored weapon, a greatclub in the shape of an oar, even when in a completely landlocked region with no sign of a boat or body of water can be seen for miles.   Churches and other permanent structures are usually inns and taverns located along well travelled roads. Rarely do Kahi's worshippers construct opulent or extravagant places of worship. It is not unheard of for Kahi's followers to band together into ever-wandering caravans.
