Seotan

The continent of Seotan lay far to the west of Talingarde across first the Lazurias (around the islands of Ornassus) and through the Verdurias. The smallest of the continents of the Sixth World, "Dark Seotan" as it is often known suffered gravely during the Fifth World, and almost every human civilization there was destroyed. In the absence of humanity, however, the beastfolk flourished. During the first half of the Sixth World's history, new societies populated by the beastfolk such as the Harakyu Shogunate, the Condor Khans, and the Ivory Raj rose. However, as the Dusk Ages have settled, many of these have collapsed to the machinations of Evil, isolated from allies overseas by geography and prejudice. Only the aaracockra khans remain, and they have scattered to all corners of the world and left their homeland behind.

Geography

Seotan is divided in half by the snaking, serpentine Orokhon Mountains, the tallest in all of Talingarde. On the northwestern shores are the lands of Harakyu, a temperate land with meager resources ravaged by centuries of endless pillage by the Beast Kingdoms. On the opposite end is the river deltas and tropical forests of Dhymandsa, and the part of the Verdurias in between it, Seotan, and Zafara that is well known for its monsoon climate is called the Demon Sea, named both for its treacherous weather as well as being the origin point of the Flood of Demons during the Fourth World, and still carries Abyssal influence. The Lotosan Archipelago, with its old Ornassi colonies, can be found here. Sheltered by the Orokhon on all sides is the Shentai Plateau, where the secretive Magnificent Kham sustains itself, isolated from the rest of the world.
