The Golling

The Golling, the Ghostcourse, is an ethereal current that moves wailing through caverns and passageways of Chur, carving through rock and flesh that it touches. It is a violent thing that is the subject of terror and ghost-tales, known to shift its course in unpredictable ways yet being pulled by invisible chains every southwards and deeper, further and further towards Tartarus. When a person dies, normally their soul will be drawn down to the Golling, which will carry them rapidly to their destination, though the psychopomps of Dhoad also serve a purpose in guiding those lost to where they need to be, as well as protecting them from the many forces that would wish them ill.
