The Pit

The Pit is an embodiment of the Principle of Evil, an outside force that has embedded itself in the Firmament like a splinter. Similar to its Empyrean counterpart this makes it both a location and a category. The Pit appears as the name might expect, a bottomless hole beneath the world in which everything is consumed, though it twists light and reality around it, an event horizon, a vortex of wickedness. It started small, and has grown over time, though as Good cements its position, that growth has slowed (though not reversed). The Nine Hells formed around its edges, and occasionally glimpses of it through their "skies" can be seen, as a twisted reflection of the Celestial Heavens. It floats in the Infinite Abyss and twists that place of endless potentiality with its poisonous influence.
