Dayton has struggled to readjust to her new life and this shows in both her work and her mental development. She has learned to be very precise in her wording for fear of the wrong phrase being used as tabloid fodder however it does not come naturally for her and constant feeling of being on guard causes a lot of mental strain on her. This shows itself with sometimes insensitive or sarcastic remarks designed to push people away from her. NOTE: Dayton has made a specific request not to let it be known who her parents are and she will lie or deflect if asked if she is related to Stark or Maria Dayton. ADDENDUM: Based on recent evaluations it is believed that Dayton is having romantic encounters with Cmn. Winter. As they are the same rank and on different shifts there is no further advisement needed.Biographical Overview
Dayton was born on Solosos III, a remote colony on the Cardassian Union border. Her parents were famous holovid actors that had decided to settle in a remote colony to raise their family in peace and quiet. When the planet was ceded to the Cardassians in 2370 her family moved back to Federation space rather than be absorbed by the Cardassians or join the Maquis rebellion. During her childhood Dayton was unaware of her parents fame and the move back to more densely populated space was a severe culture shock. Not only did she have to adjust from rugged frontier life but also had to come to terms with all the publicity and spotlights of being the daughter of two famous celebrities. Her studies struggled and while she was accepted into Starfleet Academy, she flunked out during her second year. Unfortunately the news of her dismissal from the Academy were headlines across the Federation and Dayton enlisted as a technician in order to get away from the paparazzi. She was assigned to USS Nightingale in 2374.
