Episode 2 - Clearing the goblin lair

Underground Rumble

Upon arriving at a still recovering Farpoint, the group returns to Melinda to ask for additional assistance in clearing the goblin lair. Melinda doesn’t look too impressed and suggests sending Merik's hand to finish the job, much to the chagrin of the party. Berkle then suggests bringing in another lone adventure he met: Zeke Eartherin. With this new member the party feels emboldened and heads back to the goblin lair to clear it out.   The gang arrives at the lair and opts to take a quiet approach through the back entrance. They make a small amount of noise alerting the guards, however Yedahlia is able to imitate the goblin they interrogated (Dave) and persuade the guards to leave and shore up the defenses at the front of the base. The party then proceeds to systematically advance through the lair, taking out any goblins in their path. They eventually go loud to finish the remaining goblins, and end up in the main throne room. After some light looting and searching, they find some letters detailing battle plans signed R.H. There is also a trap door where the Goblin leader Ian is hiding in a small panic room. After being pressed, he tells the group about a new cult that has something to do with the word Khalash. They then knock out the goblin and take him and the rest of the evidence back to Melinda. Necrid also recovers a statue identical to one found outside the Dayforge in Farpoint.   On their return, Necrid returns the statue to the Half-orc running the Dayforge known as Greel Irontusk. Grateful for its return, Greel offers to construct a new mace for Necrid. He also notices Necrid's filed down teeth, and offers to replace them. Necrid declines, wanting to keep the reminder of his past struggles, which Greel admires and respects.   Meanwhile in Farpoint hall, the group returns to Melinda triumphant and turns in Ian and all of their evidence. Melinda thanks them, and the group enquires further as to what is going on and if they can help. Melinda explains the Blades of Niphrodel may also be investigating the cult, and that the task is slightly above the gangs paygrade. She does also offer a job escorting a halfling to the Shrine to DIprovius, and maps out a route to Necrid's destination: God's Peak. With this new plan of action, the group has a little look around town at the statues to get some knowledge of Farpoint's history, and then goes their separate ways to turn in for the night.
