The age in which giants ruled the earth. All other peoples were either their subjects, or else hid in distant and remote places. The giants erected great structures and even created new lands with their earth magic, and the ruins of their great works dot the land even today. The giant kingdoms eventually fell due to resource depletion and a phenomenon called the Ebb, in which each generation of giants was slightly lesser than the one that came before.

This refers to the sighting of the Ebonslab's collapse into the sea from the top of the Hightower, the tallest structure in the world, in far southeastern Valbara.
