Session 1: The Bristlebeard Brewery
General Summary
Summary: An unnamed sorceress and ranger stop at an enchanted tavern in a clearing within the Goblinwood.
The Bristlebeard Brewery, a tavern warded with runes that magically insulate the interior from the Goblinwood, mysteriously collapsed in an arcane disaster, leaving the inhabitants trapped inside a small crystal.
Two survivors of the incident, Keerla Roween and Ian Taggart, joined forces to release the captive souls-- especially that of Ian’s familiar. Into the stone was etched a mystical signature that Keerla recognized from her past-- the sigil belonged to Siegurt of Scabberdale.
On the way to Scabberdale, the duo was accosted by a group of goblins drawn to the area by strange flashes of light. After a hard-fought battle, the duo noticed a half-ogre’s cart as it pulled into the area where Bristlebeard once stood.
Rendered unemployed by the recent magical disaster, Brunk of Briarwood joined the duo in their journey to Scabberdale.
In Scabberdale, the group offloaded Brunk’s cart full of ale at the The Mannered Bear and proceeded to Siegurt’s Spellcrafts, a small shop within the village. With directions from Hamilton, Siegurt’s Taykagara (Slothfolk) assistant, the group made their way to Toadstool Cave.
After navigating the traps within the cave, the group finally found Siegurt to confront him about the enchantment. Siegurt, revealed to be a necromancer, immediately attempted to escape by raising undead servants.
Keerla, Ian, and Brunk manage to defeat the reanimated dead and chase after the errant spellcaster.
