Demon Lord

When the term "Demon Lord" is used on the surface world of Valine, it generally refers to Bulir the Envious, but in truth Bulir is more an Overlord of the demons with several Demon Lords beneath his rule. To be considered a Demon Lord, a demon must control an army of demons of a certain size, determined by Bulir, thus the number of Demon Lords at any given time is subject to the whim of Bulir.

Requirements

Leadership of a large army of demons is required not only to be assigned the rank, but also to hold onto it.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The rank is generally taken from a demon  by another demon's ascendancy.

Cultural Significance

Demonic ranks are malleable and subject to sudden change, but the loose structure of rank and class in The Asylum needs labels, regardless of how inaccurately and whimsically they are applied.

Notable Holders

Bulir the Envious, although considering himself an Overlord, himself maintains the rank of Demon Lord.
