Hobgoblin
Larger than goblins, smaller than bugbears, hobgoblins are the most aggressive of the three goblinoid races and the least likely to be found in civilized areas. Despite being the most intelligent of the goblinoids, they are also the most territorial and xeonophobic. They violently reject contact with even other goblinoids and protect their territories fiercely.
Hobgoblins also have a strict code of honor to which they adhere and breaking the code means instant banishment from hobgoblin society. Such hobgoblins may find their way into the fringes of other races' societies and survive through hired labor. Their prowess in combat, adherence to their word, and proud determination to not bring further dishonor to hobgoblins (by proving themselves weaker than those they have been bred to view as inferior races) make them sought-after bodyguards.
