Primordial
A root language from which many others have developed, Primordial is the language of the Elemental, and the building blocks of nature. It's four direct dialects, and the closest to Primordial's original form are Aquan, Terran, Auran, and Ignan - all very similar in vocabulary but with subtle differences in syntax and structure.
The phonics of the four Primordial dialects, particularly Terran form the basic sounds of many other languages including Giant.
Writing System
Primordial has no written form in the strictest sense of the word. Rather, one reads messages in natural patterns of air, earth, water, and fire or some combination of the four basic elements to interpret messages. True Primordial speakers can manipulate at least one element sufficiently to "write" something that will persist for some time, even against other elemental forces. Those without that ability can never leave more than a brief and short lived handful of words that would be seen as little more than a crude form of the language.
