Giant

Commonly referred to as simply "Giant" by most, but properly known as Axari to those who speak it is one of Valine's oldest spoken languages. Common Tongue takes many of its root sentence structures from Axari. Giant itself comes from Primordial originally, with some Dwarven influence as well. Trollspeak shares most of the vocalizations of Giant, perhaps due to a similar anatomical structure of the throat between trolls and giants.

Writing System

Written Giant is a runic language, with a base system with 39 basic runic forms representing different vocalizations and also basic early giant societal concepts. Runes are then combined to create more complex structures with the placement of the rune combinations up to nine runes in different placements providing a total of 24 possible meanings from a two rune combination and 4096 combinations in a nine rune combination. As the written version was more fully developed by goliaths, few giants (only about 5%) are very familiar with its written form.
