The Treaty of the Dead
Purpose
The Treaty of the Dead outlined in plain terms the procedure for processing the souls of the dead and their movement to the afterlife or back to Valine. It also laid out the roles of Khydar the Unnatural and Astus in that process. As part of that process, the treaty also specified an end to The Undead Terror and a balance between the numbers of the living and the dead upon Valine.

History
The document marks the end of The Undead Terror.
Legacy
The major long-lasting repercussion of the treaty is the survival of the living upon Valine, for surely through attrition, the undead would have overwhelmed the living over time. Though only a legend to most mortals on Valine, to the hierarchy of the temples enough fragments of the actual text are known to provide guidance to them in the actions of the temples that guides some of the cooperation, perhaps unexpected, between temples otherwise at odds with one another.
