Outcome

Khydar the Unnatural reigned in the actions of the undead hordes, allowing the living to return to a more normal existence.

Aftermath

Astus and Khydar the Unnatural's uneasy truce holds to the present day through numerous conflicts over the fate of souls, but different types of undead beings were permanently unleashed upon Valine.

Historical Significance

Undeath had been kept from Valine by Gama, even though one of her own heads is that of a dracolich. When Astus and Jopha the Verdant, in their hubris, attempted to create a perfect divine being the result was Khydar the Unnatural who's existence brought with him the curse of Undeath. The dead rose from the graves, and for twenty years, plagued the existence of the living while Astus and Khydar the Unnatural battled over the fate of departed souls. Though many individual conflicts took place over the course of the ensuing twenty years, it was in the realm of the divine that the conflict was settled, with The Treaty of the Dead bringing to a close two decades of the living fighting for survival.
