Wealyra

Occupying an important and strategic positions at the southwestern end of Mithlerien, Wealyra is notable for being, at one time, the hub of the global sea trade and, more recently, the birthplace of firearms.

Demographics

As a population center of near 100,000 souls and a major international trade center to boot, Wealyra is about as cosmopolitan a place as one might find. All civilized species are represented among the population. However, as with most of Mithlerien, the population skews towards a plurality of humans, elves, and half-elf . With these species making up a little under 30% of the population, the other species are fairly evenly split for the most part, though halflings, gnomes and caniic have notably sizable communities in the city.

Government

As one of the key cities of Mithlerien and vital to the economy of the island kingdom, the crown takes a much more active role in governing the city. It is technically governed by Crown Prince Alred Krisnan, Prince of Wealyra, though in practice the duties of the Crown Prince keep him away from Wealyra so much that the actual governing is left to a Seneschal chosen as Crown Prince Alred Krisnan, Prince of Wealyra's second by the Queen herself. The only higher ranking state official outside of the Royal Family is the Prime Minister in the capital.

Infrastructure

The docks, shipyards and warehouses of Wealyra are known and renowned throughout Valine.
