Frost Territories
Art by Ninjatic
Silver and white dragons often fight for territory throughout the land, making it a very dangerous place to live. Nevertheless, life persists. Some races who can withstand the below freezing temperatures and the ever present threat of dragons, monsters and wild beasts call this land home.
Etymology
The name of this land comes from the brave adventures who make their way there many, many, many years ago searching for their fortune. Dragon scales, gold, the horns and blood of various beasts. But of course, wealth comes at a price. Almost all who faced these creatures died by their hand, or from the elements.Geography
The terrain is often described as an icy hellscape. An apt description considering the only season this land knows is winter. It is a mountainous land, known for wet and stormy weather, tundra landscapes, and large populations of dragons, bears, salmon, caribou, and many other types of marine life and cold-aligned monsters. It also contains one of Valloths longest and largest rivers, but this is mostly frozen due to the climate.
North
Further north still is a frozen mountain range that is known dragon territory. If you wish to live a long life, avoid this place.East
To the eastern border, where the sea separates this land from Fire’s Domain, almost no life is there. This is only a speculation as none who went to map the area came back alive.South
In the south closer to the Weodon and Batun borders where the weather isn't a death sentence, there is life. Various towns and villages fighting for survival, defending their land against dragons, monsters, and worst of all: each other. Most of these settlements are fishing and hunting villages of some kind.Localized Phenomena
Aurora Borealis
The Aurora Borealis, also called the 'Nightlights of Hell', are an atmospheric phenomenon that's regarded as a blessing in this frozen wasteland. It is a natural light display in Valloth's sky, predominantly seen in high-latitude regions such as the Frost Territories. Auroras display dynamic patterns of brilliant lights that appear as curtains, rays, spirals, or dynamic flickers covering the entire sky.
Climate
A land of snowy mountains and everlasting winter. This is a result of the astronomically high number of dragons with cold based powers, such as silver and white dragons. Over the millennia, the combined regional effects of the dragons’ magic affected the world on an enormous scale, resulting in the Frost Territories.
