Mithral

Silvery metal when refined, it holds a uniquely magical property of being able to create unparalleled weapons and armors without having extreme weight or deficiency in their making. Used mostly by the Wild Elf of the world, it is not used exclusively by them and can be seen all across Valnoagawa

Glossy Silver color when in refined state.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Extremely light, even when in Ore form, and slightly warm to the touch. When used to create any weapon or armor, they are considered magical for the purposes of bypassing damage resistances or immunities.  
  • Weapons: If a weapon doesn't have the Heavy property, they gain the Finesse property. Otherwise, it loses the Heavy property. 
  • Armor: Never imposes disadvantage on Dexterity(Stealth) checks or have a Strength requirement.

Geology & Geography

Ore found deep in mountains or along weak points between the Elemental Earth Plane and Ley Line junctions.

Origin & Source

The metal comes from the ore with the same name that is dull gray in coloration before refinement.

First discovered by an long forgotten Dwarf clan, it's very first use was to craft a singular knife as is the standard by which all metals are judged to this day.

Used to make armor, weapons, and various pieces of equipment that need to be lightweight but extremely durable. Creation of jewelry for individuals with exorbitant wealth that can meet the price.

Mithral is prized by both Dwarves and Elves for what can be accomplished with the metal in the hands of their most talented smith and tradesman.

Ore is used in high heat furnace/smelters to remove impurities before being crafted into ingots.

Luxury ore/metal traded mostly by Dwarven clans, rich merchants, and governments. A single ingot is about five pounds for a rough price of 50 Gold Kratocracy Gilding, though it can vary based on how far it has travelled and if a source is found for nearby markets.
