Druss and the Kidnappings in Little Ferry
Druss joined the Fate Bound when the caravan he was guarding was attacked by gnolls. As he fought alongside the young heroes who rushed to help him, he felt something inside him that he thought he would never feel again. Purpose. In the Fate Bound he saw young eager souls wanted to do good and help others. Like the soldiers he had led into battle, these men needed guidance and he was prepared to give it to them. He did not want to the leader of the group as a commander or general would be, but rather to be a mentor. A voice of wisdom and experience. A chance for him to not make the mistakes he had made in the past.
During the investigation into the kidnappings, he helped his new found friends whenever he could. He tried to start off every day with hearty breakfast that they came to call the Fate Bound Feast. He set sound tactical plans and pointed out techniques that would improve their martial prowess. He also proved to be quite generous, hosting meals for the Fate Bound to show his appreciation for their efforts and bolster their confidence. Most recently he planned a dinner with many of the luminaries of the town in honor of his friends, toasting them with Whiskey Gold and bestowing upon them the rank of honorary members of the Riverguard that he had negotiated with Commander Zander.
During the two week downtime, Druss, he encouraged his friends to train and prepare for their next adventure. Each of them heeded his advice and sought out people they had met in Little Ferry to help them hone their skills. Druss also spent much of his time with Cory Arnbyte the son of the cult leader. He realized that the boy knew nothing of what his father has done and he wanted to make sure that he would not pay for his father's sins. With the help of the Temple of Dalana and the Riverguard he was able to set up a support system for the young noble so that he could take over the legitimate part of Arnbyte shipping.
With the help of donations Druss was also able to convince Sister Amalia to give Tenzin fine priestly robes and for Gregori Erwin to order the making of a shield with the symbol of the Shining Circle for Leonardo.
Although not one to believe in such things as fate or destiny, in the small hours of the morning as he readied for his day, Druss would often think that perhaps it was too much of a coincidence that he happened to meet the Fate Bound on the road. No matter how much he tried, he could not shake the feeling that he was meant to be with them.
