Gilligan Trottle trying to outrun his past and make a name for himself
Gilligan grew up in Hilltown in a tavern that his parents owned. It was there that he met an elven bard named Rose and found his calling. She trained him and sponsored him so that he could attend the bard college of Lore and the Fine Arts (LFA College) located in Garrison. After graduating, he created a bardic group known as the Tall Tales with his closest friends.
For three years he traveled across northern Valoria with the troupe, but Gilligan his heart always told him that he needed to break away from the group and make a name for himself. His friends gave him 300 gold pieces and sent him on his way.
Unfortunately he wasted the money and lost it all gambling. As his debts mounted he found there was a bounty on is head placed there by Green Blades and he had to spend all his time trying to dodge assassins from the Shadows.
On his travels he heard rumors that the members of his bardic group had met bad ends. Only two were still alive Burrin and Artemis. Although he wanted to find his remaining friends he still cowered and traveled port to port to find a story to gain him fame. Until one night on the ship he was traveling he was greeted by a Halfling woman. Her name was Tyrubeli. She wasn't a member of the crew, nor a stow away... but something else. She talked as if she knew him. After hours of talking she gave him a tarot card depicting The World, but she gave it to him upside down and counseled him to travel back toward Garrison as fate awaits him there. She left him with these words, "For you the world is upside down. You are incomplete and unfulfilled. You are searching, but do you know for what. Perhaps someday you will find the answer and your world will turn right-side up."
