Cliffsreach
Though it is located in close proximity to the extravagant city of Umra, Cliffsreach shares none of its wealth or appeal. While it sees the majority of the shipping traffic from Locrati into Astagua, none of that money stays in Cliffsreach long, and the foundation of its economy is what little money the slaves of Umra are authorized to spend. There is, however, a sizeable Black Market economy that operates beneath the law, operating off the sale of things such as drugs, magical items, and piercing ore otherwise unaccounted for in the mines.
It is constantly battered by waves from the Drowning Sea and more often than not is shrouded in various densities of fog.

The Wet
The Wet consists of the Harbor and all the buildings on the other side of the road that runs parallel to the coast. The particularly savage surf of the Drowning Sea west of the Umran peninsula ensures the street, buildings, and harbor maintain a wetness most commonly found at sea. Though the majority of traffic that comes to Cliffsreach passes through The Wet, it is still moderately high in crime. Criminals tend not to deal with outsiders due to the possibility of getting the law involved; that is to say, generally Umran Guard and the barons and dukes of Umra turn a blind eye to the activity, as long as it doesn't impact the economy. Even with this homegrown and self-targeting crime, Wet's Road is the most popular street for drinking in town. Many a drunken persons trespassing in the harbor have been swept into the ocean at high tide, never to be seen again. Popular Services:The Damp
The Damp is the second-largest district in Cliffsreach and contains the overwhelming majority trading and inns in the town. Despite being the economical and tourist heart of the town, it lacks the charm of similarly-sized, though less oppressed, civilization centers. The Damp is only marginally more lively than The Dry, and it's where the sailors and merchants passing through Cliffsreach stay for the night. The Umran Guard seldom makes visits to The Damp and the lack of authority makes it an occasionally dangerous place for travelers passing through. Still, it is the cleanest part of the town and where outsiders are most likely to find work. When The Umran Guard does pass through, it is only to escort those slaves which have earned, over the course of the year, a couple silver coins to buy whatever it is they please. The Dry
The Dry is the largest portion of Cliffsreach and it houses The Indentured - slaves - that work in the mines of the Piercing Hills, located about 50 miles south, south-east. On the surface, it is a depressing and lifeless area. Rows of barracks and dining facilities, where slaves are mandated to eat a rotating menu of food twice daily, span the heart of the district while tall battlements and much better barracks line the outside. It is there, from the outside, that The Umran Guard control the flow of persons into and out of the compound. Away from The Umran Guard and behind closed doors, however, there is a lively culture that's developed among the workers. There are several underground bazaars, barracks that have been transformed into taverns, and even a paltry stage for largely improvised theater. It isn't that the Umran government explicitly prohibits any of these things -- the people simply seek to remove their oppressors from as many things as they can.Though it is generally accepted that folks just get swept into the sea overnight, there are those Umrans who believe something more sinister is going on.
