The knives give the GM oportunity to stab you back with the point of a story.
Knives are things in your backstory the GM will probably use to backstab your character. The GM will stab your character (metaphorically - you hope) with them over the course of your (hopefully) long and sordid career of adventuring in Vinroux. It is up to you to decide the details of the knives. If you do not specify the details of the knives, the GM will invent them as needed.
