The Flametip Mountains

The range of blackened mountains and fiery volcanoes cuts across Lenwir like a scar. Many that live in its shadow swear it to be the home of demons, devils and otherworldly horrors, believing the tale that this is where their next invasion will spring forth from. Though in truth the intimidating mountains bring order to a continent that would suffer without them. For did they not exist war would rage between Sabal and Nemir and it would be bloody.

Some still seek that future, either for their own gain, or that of otherworldly masters and pursue ways over or under the mountains, to better gain a foothold in the others lands. Those that make these journeys deep beneath the mountain rarely return, and those that do bear naught but ill news, for powerful beings live in the fiery hearts of mountains. Those that seek an alternate route over the mountains suffer from regular collapses triggered by earthquakes and the prying eyes of predators that see anything smaller than a mammoth as a tasty snack, whether it be giants, dragons or something else.

Within this dangerous environment can still be found semblances of order, though they are small and unwelcoming to strangers. Hardy Dragonoid and Goliath tribes make these mountains home, priding themselves on strength and fortitude. Attributes that are needed to survive here, for those that don't possess them will meet a quick end.
