Ironwood Province

Situated between the vast plains of the Veridian Expanse to the north and the Osmad Desert to the south, the Ironwood Province is a region of dense forest with magical properties. The few cities that have developed here in the occasional clearing are home to a variety of races including dwarves, fey creatures, and tieflings. The rest of Ironwood consists of dense forests of the hardy Ironwood tree, hence the region's name. Some regions are so dense that it could be as dark as night beneath the canopy while it is still daytime.
The magical nature of the land comes from the thin overlap of the region with the Feywild, a confusing land of mystery and magical beings. Some of these magical beings can be seen throughout the woodlands, including centaurs, satyrs, and fairies. There are also rumors that unicorn graze in these woods, though no one has confirmed this. Most travelers tend to stay on established paths as it is easy to get lost in the dense forest.
Geography
The Ironwood Province is a relatively flat land covered with dense forests. Some areas get extremely dense that the canopy blocks almost all light from entering.
Fauna & Flora
Aside from the natural woodland creatures that exist in a forst, such as deer, squirrels, rabbits, foxes, and bears, the Ironwoods are home to a number of few wildlife.
Natural Resources
Ironwood trees are naturally sturdy and make excellent construction materials. Coincidentally, plentiful iron reserves were discovered underneath the region and are exploited.
