House Li
The only House to deal in slavery and openly admit to assassinhood, House Li trade in many things but really only care about one resource: Fear.
Filthy rich and rumored to dabble in dark magic, House Li — unlike the Tancharoens — bank on their chaotic reputation and openly train elite assassins/mercenaries, called Talons.
Their vicious, numerous samurai army are notorious for hanging the bodies of enemies in displays, to the ire of the other Houses.
Li have amassed wealth due in no small part to their Talons and a brief history of strategic political assassination. It was only by the intervention of the other Houses — led by the Hasashis, Yeohs, Kwongs, and Anoa'i some years ago — that decreed the Li forbidden to kill for political gain. In exchange, the Talons could accept foreign jobs in Vielamor at will.
When the Emperors and Empresses were murdered, House Li's Lord Ricky Li— boisterous and prone to violent outburst — was immediately a suspect until an investigation and evidence confirmed his innocence.
Unlike the other Houses, the Li have two Kenshis, twin brothers, who represent both its samurai army and the Talons: Kang and Rang. No one is sure who is Kang or who is Rang, nor does anyone know which side of the Li army either belong to.
