House Stormwatch
House Stormwatch is a vassal house of House Kriegschiff in the Kustlands known for their staunch defense of their coastline and famous wielders of a unique tempest magic. Lead by the stoic Demetrius Stormwatch the house has a reputation for upholding the law to the letter and perhaps going overboard on punishment, but under his leadership the coastline near the castle of Stormwatch is the safest in the kingdom. Their seat lies at Stormwatch, their sigil is a black backround with a blue trident and their house words are "A dream to some, a nightmare to most".
Structure
House Stormwatch is organized in a very traditional matter to most houses, they have a lord on top who handles all the affairs with the assistance of his court appointed by himself. Stormwatch prefers a male heir, but will apoint a woman, should no male heir be available.
Culture
The culture of House Stormwatch is centered around placing one's duty above all else. House Stormwatch, since the days of The Scourge has been charged with guarding the seas around Stormwatch and since assigned this duty they have carried it out to the letter. This is in starch contrast to their ruling House Kriegschiff which now finds itself under the leadership of a former pirate, the very type of people House Stormwatch captured and killed for hundreds of years. The people of the region are as dutybound as their house, many are great warriors and sailors, but unique to this region some posess the unique ability of Tempest Magic, a form of magic they use to manipulate the seas to assist in capture or pursuit.
Assets
House Stormwatch isnt very wealthy, relying on taxes from their limited population, but for the limited resources they have they posess a small and elite force. The Stormwatch standing army numbers at roughly 1000 men and 50 warships, they posess very little knights, but have a small number of Tempest Mages which bring great power to their navy. Most of their resources go to the army and the common people have suffered for it, with most living in squalor.
History
House Stormwatch was founded during The Scourge when the original castle was built. The people who were assigned to man the fort were tasked with defending an extremely crucial part of the Driftwood Coast from marauders and fiendish armies. They performed this duty, but it took a great toll on both their people and the nobles who were put in charge as thousands of their soldiers and family members perished, but somehow they fought on.
