Biography
Hans Zauber was a German soldier and occultist during World War II. A member of the Thule Society and "Special Command H", Hans worked his way up to the rank of Obersturmfuhrer, or First Lieutenant. He was deeply involved in the Nazi regime's research into the occult and supernatural and was responsible for overseeing a number of secret experiments and rituals aimed at harnessing the power of the supernatural for the Third Reich.
Zauber's obsession with the occult went far beyond his military duties, however. He was a devoted student of the dark arts and spent much of his free time delving into forbidden texts and experimenting with arcane rituals. It was during one of these experiments that he first caught the attention of a member of Clan Tremere.
It is unclear exactly when Zauber was embraced, but it is known that it happened sometime before the end of the war. After his embrace, Zauber left Germany and traveled to Vienna, where he began his training as a Tremere.
Hans Zauber is a ruthless and sadistic monster who takes pleasure in the suffering of others. He is deeply committed to the Tremere's goals of accumulating power and knowledge and will stop at nothing to achieve those ends.
Zauber is also a fanatic of Clan Tremere and a fervent believer in the superiority of the kindred race. He sees himself as a key player in Clan Tremere.

He prefers wearing dark clothes with silver accessories, a nod to his days in the S.S. Hans has a very gaunt appearance when you his exceedingly pale complexion with his dark outfits. His arms, chest, and back are covered in Tremere tattoos and he enjoys wearing a large metal skull necklace.
Modern Nights
Hans has spent many a night working with fellow Tremere Xanthus on a large amount of occult research. They've visited places of power, attempted to create new rituals, uncover lost knowledge, and learn about the occult and spirit world.
One cold December night when performing rituals in The Catacombs beneath Locustwood Manor, Matio while performing his own in-field research came across Hans and Xanthus. Hans decided to kill Matio, resulting in Xanthus and Hans getting into a fight. Although neither was seriously hurt, their partnership was broken forever. Hans had stolen Matio's research and disappeared. Xanthus made the decision to embrace Matio, which Hans has recently heard about.
Hans has seemingly sold off parts of Matio's research, had other parts stolen, and kept others.
Killed by during The Longest Night.
