General Summary
It's more like Vek's instant first floor
Back to the Greenhouse
- The party fled the dome, Kayelin possessed siren and acolyte of the child in tow.
- They regrouped within Simmra's greenhouse, and found Simmra's son had woken up. He did not seem to understand what was going on with his mother and was clearly disturbed at Simmra's ghostly conversations. He eventually retired to another room in the greenhouse to try and calm himself when no one offered an explanation.
- It seemed that the acolyte of the child had been somehow responsible for the giant's slumber. The acolyte however, claimed that this was a rarity in the city.
- Beau used her bardic powers to allow Farren, Harold, and Alton to rest up quickly within only a few minutes by the power of a catnap.
- The party was gifted cherry tomatoes by Simmra - Alton persuaded Kayelin still possessing Avanne, to eat some.
- Simmra also gave Farren a scroll of contagion that had been traded to her for a number of alchemical ingrediants, and a scroll of mass cure wounds.
- Simmra went to go and console her son.
- The masked acolyte remained in the greenhouse.
- When Kayelin refused to stay behind, and also claimed that the body was vacant save for her.
- Alton gave Kayelin a potion of healing and her bow. She instantly attuned to it.
- Seeing that the siren body was particularly weak, Beau gave Kayelin her armour. Kayelin appreciated this.
To the Western Crystal!
- The western region of the city was largely empty save for undead and dead skeletons, and a few sharks (some of which were also skeletons though notably, not great wight hydrasharks).
- The party proceeded with the utmost stealth.
- They came upon what seemed to be a large but outwardly ordinary tent amid a boneyard. Directly north of the tent, all around the crystal, a strange wall was slowly building itself outward. The crystal was still visible from above, but was sealed away by some kind of magical forcefield.
- Both the forcefield and the "building" seemed to be drawing energy directly from the purple lianyte crystal.
- Beau attempted to break through the shield, but found her attack reflected.
- Farren attempted to ghost step through the shield but found himself spun around and thrown outside it, though he made it inside the building.
The Tent
- Beau made her way to the tent, to see if there were any clues there. She made use of invisibility and her periscope to peak under the tent.
- The tent was mysteriously filled with air and bookshelves.
- A storm giant, presumably Ormund, was questioning a skeleton lounging on a purple chair.
- The skeleton had reportedly recieved some instructions from his master and the giant wanted to get through the barrier.
- The skeleton's master was supposedly resting by the crystal, waiting for this all to blow over.
- The skeleton, by his own admission, was compelled to answer the giant, but not compelled to do anything.
- The skeleton claimed that his master had said he would need the key to pass through the shield.
"First, in the hands of the queen who need not perish Second atop the castle of the land turned against the who ruled it. "
- Beau collected a few books, including spell "notes, a book on skeletons, and a book on the proper usage of purple lianyte.
- Beau caused a ruckus as a distraction involving a domino setup of books, and fled back to the crystal.
The Nameless Skull
- Inside the building, the captain found a number of statues, primarily kobolds.
- He also found a few rooms, an area where the floor was renewing itself, an arch that led to nowhere, a broken giant statue holding stone grapes, some strange constructs, vaguely reminiscent of Rust, and a talking skull.
- The skull claimed the rest of his body had been destroyed by the constructs and cautioned the captain to be quiet.
- The skull claimed that his boss was resting withing the shield. The captain percieved a particularly Vek looking statue grasping a book within the shield.
- The skull claimed that there were two keys, that had to be held at opposite ends of the shield to open it, and that once everything had calmed down outside, his coworker would retrieve them.
- The rest of the party broke through the outer wall using brute force. The wall built itself better behind them.
- Alton did not fit well as he was still giant size.
- Their entry alerted the constructs, who bashed through another wall to attack the party.
- Farren attempted to nonchalantly walk by but was attacked.
- The constructs were quickly dealt with. Cracked silver mirrors were found within each of them.
- During the fight, Kayelin missed with her bow and stared at it as though it had betrayed her. Beau shook her out of it, but tried to convince her to sing. Kayelin ran away from this.
- Harold named the skull, The Nameless Skull.
- Apparently the Nameless Skull had the rest of his skeleton on his first day of work.
- The skull claimed his master was Darcassan Vek
Chess? History?
- Apart from a mephit and some large rumbly thing in a pool of lava the party tried to avoid, the building seemed empty.
- The party found that each of the statues was in possession of a key.
- There were four rooms, each with dates on the floor by the door.
- It seemed that each room had been set up as some kind of chess game. Many of the pieces were named after various historical individuals, only some of which the party had heard of.
- Kayelin, despite possessing a non-vampiric siren, and being a caranage vampire, had no reflection.
- Beau stole the wings off a dragon statue.
