History
Now near fabled as the joining of Sun and Moon, what had been an arranged marriage between two dying elven princedoms had soon blossomed into love. Aejor's practicality and Amaranthae's generosity allowed Amun Morchant to live longer than most, even after Amaranthae's kingdom was swallowed by the sands and roaming Sah'ra raiders. The Moon Elf bride soon fell into a deep depression even her doting husband often failed to shake her from. Centuries passed the couple, childless, as Amaranthae did not wish to bring further life into the dying Wadi. It was only at the abandonment of Amun Morchant for the druid oasis and pressure from the few remaining Duskborn advisors did she finally bear the Duskborns an heir, unfortunately a girl-child as frail and dainty as she had grown to be. Astraia. Broken and ashamed that she had done such a terrible thing to her husband for bearing not a son but a daughter, and for bringing life into what she believed was a dying and hopeless world, she committed suicide by wandering into the wastes, never to be seen again. Aejor never took another wife and swore to never once give up hope as she had. Perhaps a little broken himself by the loss of so much in his life, he insists to this day that his wife is still out in the wastes somewhere, alive, waiting for him to one day join her. The utterance of her name is forbidden in the Duskborn Oasis, lest old Aejor finally snap and ride out into the sands to chase her ghost.
