Tangleroots

The cluster of islands in the southeastern region of Bukana bears special mention. As their name suggests, the Tangleroot Isles are a wild, overgrown place. Here, territorial headhunters, reclusive Elves, and troupes of contemplative Orangutan carve out lives surrounded by deadly predators. More than just physical dangers threaten the folks of the Tangleroots. Missionaries from the nearby Amethyst Sultanates have been making efforts to “civilize” the Berani human peoples. Some tribes have converted to this foreign faith, lured with promises of safety and prosperity. However, the majority of Berani have instead begun to push back against the sultanates and their “lawful” ways.
