The Aetheris Orbital Defence Emplacements, once a proud and formidable bastion guarding the eastern approaches to Hive Aetheris, now stand as silent, desolate relics in the aftermath of the catastrophic anomaly that has torn Novaria Prime apart. These fortifications, designed to protect the hive from orbital and atmospheric assaults, are now abandoned, their guns silent, their bunkers empty, and their command centers cold and dark.
Constructed with the express purpose of defending Hive Aetheris from external threats, the emplacements were a marvel of Imperial engineering. Reinforced adamantium and plasteel bunkers housed an array of deadly weapons, including Hydra flak batteries, Icarus lascannons, and massive macro-cannon turrets capable of destroying voidships in low orbit. These defenses were supplemented by Manticore and Deathstrike missile systems, automated sentry guns, and energy barriers that created an impenetrable shield around the hive.
Positioned on the rocky cliffs and industrialized sectors of the hive's eastern outskirts, the emplacements had an unparalleled line of sight over the surrounding region. Integrated into the broader defense grid of Aetheris, they formed a critical component of the hive’s defense strategy, deterring attacks and coordinating with other installations to repel any enemy force that dared approach.

The massive macro-cannon turrets stand idle, their barrels pointing skyward in silent testimony to their lost purpose. Those who dare venture near speak of strange sights and sounds emanating from the abandoned fortifications, but few have the courage to explore them in detail.
In the aftermath of the anomaly, the abandonment of the Aetheris Orbital Defence Emplacements stands as a symbol of the larger collapse of Hive Aetheris and Novaria Prime. Aetheris Orbital Defence Emplacement Crossfire 

The site became the subject of contention when the Gungnir Collective attempted to create a beachhead for thier forces. Their hopes to utilise the defence emplacements to their advantage were undermined by their ambush at the hands of the Entimolgis Hive. The Entimolgis Necrontyr, following their bizarre autmoated protocols had identified several key resources in the weaponry's structure and were intent upon harvesting the materials to fulfil the demands of their subroutines. A violent clash ensued resulting in the Gungnir Collective's retreat. Unbeknwnst to either side two smaller contingents attempted a stealthy insertion to seize the controls of the weapon. The Heralds of Nocturn and Cohort Ursi Aeris managed to evade the two larger forces, but engaged each other in a chatastrophic and inadvertent fratricide. It was only the mysterious intervention of Inquisitor Rynhart that prevented the Heralds of Nocturn from destroying the Adeptus Mechanicus forces out of rage. As the Entimolgis Hive claimed the site, both forces were forced to retreat. 
With victory in hand the Entimolgis Hive turned their attention to the harvest. The Emperor's Justice successfully avoided destruction at the hands of the immense weaponry, despite it achieving a target lock. The Necron's eagerness to harvest the weapon dooming the crew to the lesser fate of being shot down by 401st Regimental Barracks and Mustering Yard automated defences instead.
