The Sovereign Host

The dominant religion across many cultures in the world and the only true pantheon, the Sovereigns are a diverse pantheon of good deities, and reflect all that is positive and hopeful in the world. They are omnipresent, watchful and impersonal, and do not communicate directly under any known circumstances. Most believe they at least exist, and many clerics draw power from them, but there is doubt. There is no particular central authority; followers are united by their creed.
  • The Sovereigns are with us at all times. Onatar stands at every forge, and Doi Dorn is with you whenever blades are drawn.
  • The Sovereigns shape the world. They offer us guidance and strength, but we must learn to listen.
  • Honor every Sovereign in their place and time. If you hear one voice clearly, embrace their path.
  • As a follower of the Sovereign Host, you believe that the hand of the Sovereigns can be seen in all things. What others take to be intuition or instinct, you see as the voice of the Sovereigns offering guidance. You don't need absolute proof; the fact of a bountiful harvest is evidence of Arawai's benevolence.
The Dark Six form the rest of the pantheon, embodying the darker aspects of life, and are not commonly worshipped.   The Sovereigns are:
  • Arawai, Sovereign of love, life and the harvest.
  • Aureon, Sovereign of knowledge, magic and law.
  • Balinor, Sovereign of nature, animals and the hunt. Worshipped by Rakki Vadalis.
  • Boldrei, Sovereign of home, hearth and community.
  • Dol Arrah, Sovereign of honour, sunlight and tactics.
  • Dol Dorn, Sovereign of strength, combat and war.
  • Kol Korran, Sovereign of commerce, trade and travel.
  • Olladra, Sovereign of good fortune, healing and destiny
  • Onatar, Sovereign of artifice, fire and creation. Worshipped by Forge.
Almost all followers of the Host, called Vassals, recognize the entire Host. Others may specialise into one in particular, or into a tradition that focuses onto a triumvirate - for example, the Faces of War following Dol Arrah, Dol Dorn and The Mockery, the Faces of Nature looking to Arawai, Balinor and The Devourer, and the Faces of Love following Arawai, Boldrei and The Fury.   Some of the Sovereigns seem to be known by other names by different cultures - the Rushemé know of Banor the Bloody Spear and Rowa of the Jungle Leaves, instead of Balinor and Arawai for example.
