Xen'drik

Xen'drik is the southern-most continent on Eberron, home to some of its oldest civilizations, sprawling from equator to the southern pole, and filled with mysteries.   Giants built the first civilization on Eberron thirty thousand years ago on the continent of Xen'drik. At the height of these empires they covered much of the continent. The giants and their slaves, drow and elves, built sprawling cities and massive temples throughout the land.   Great magic has warped the land. The environments of Xen'drik are extreme and unpredictable, and travelers might find a glacial expanse in the midst of a vast desert. Tens of thousands of years have passed, yet no civilization has risen to the heights of the fallen giants; some believe that curses laid by The Sovereign Host ensure that any city that grows too large collapses into madness. On the mainland, The Traveler's Curse twists space, and explorers might follow the same path twice only to end up in entirely different locations. Xen'drik is a continent that defies control. Expeditions have unearthed artifacts of immense power, as well as fields of Siberys dragonshards, but once you leave a site, you might never find it again. Civilizations have tried to rise, only to be struck down with paranoia, aggression and destruction, afflicted with the curse of Du'rashka Tul, the Giant's "madness of crowds".   This continent south of Khorvaire was the homeland of the giant race and the stage for the Age of Giants and the Quori Giant War. Today, it is occupied by mostly the remnants of the giants and various drow cultures, with the exception of the town of Stormreach on the northern tip of the mainland. To the west, the gigantic Menechtarun Desert dominates the landscape, with an area larger than Breland. To the south, massive volcanic peaks separate out the jungles from the tundra, which eventually gives way to the frozen wastes of the southern pole, Everice.
