The Fist and Glove
The Fist and Glove is an ancient drinking house located in the back-streets behind the Cathedral of Sigmar, not far from the Street of One Hundred Taverns. It is favored by Witch Hunters from the nearby Grant Temple of Sigmar.
Beyond its cracked oak door the ceilings are low and the lack of windows makes the inside of the tavern dark and gloomy. The only light comes from the occassional candles sitting on wooden candle stands dotted around the room and the glims sitting on some of the tables set in boothes along both walls with their hard wooden benches worn smooth by generations of witch hunters backsides.
The tavern smells of strong pipe tobacco, wood smoke from the heath with its ineffective chimney, stale beer turing sour in the sawdust on the floor and stale sweat. Its patrons preferred the company of their own thoughts and the counsel of their beer to any outside entertainment and so no minstrels sang in this tavern and the tavern wenches were nothing to look at and kept their opinions to themselves.
The atmosphere is sombre and heavy, as the centuries of earnest discussion over points of religious doctrine and the agonies over matters of copnscience had soaked themselves into the very fabric of the building itself weighing it down.
