Ancient Death Temple

The ancient death temple is a temple of Myrkul abandoned long ago. It is located in the western Hel Mountains just north of the Highway. By some means, the Mysterious Cult found the temple and repurposed it for their own needs.
The Party discovered the temple after they returned to Ambridge following their pursuit and eventual defeat of Bronwen Mandit. They found Ambridge strangely empty. While investigating, magic runes activated and teleported the Party to the entrance of the temple. Our heroes killed all of the cultists and freed most of the Ambridge citizens, but not before they witnessed a terrible ceremony that stole the life force of three people. The Party is still unsure of the purpose of the ceremony.
The temple has a variety of rooms, including:

• The high priest's quarters,
• Multiple holding cells,
• Torture/death pits,
• An unknown ceremonial room with a large skull statue,
• A large gathering hall most recently inhabited by gargoyles,
• A holding room for chaining and preparing human sacrifices, and
• A large ceremonial room with an elevated dais and sacrificial pits.

The temple also included a massive pit of unknown depth, presumably for disposing of bodies after ceremonies.
While investigating the high priest's quarters, Bartimus saw a mirror he thinks the cultists were using to commune with "Q", their elusive leader. Q stared at Barty intently before shattering the mirror from the other side.
