Enchantment in Material Form

This staff represents the power of enchantment, a fragment of Mystra's spirit coalesced into material form. The city of Alterus was founded on the spot this staff appeared to spring forth from the ground of Winderia. The staff appears as a smooth oaken staff with a head of sparkling lights. The lights flare each time the wielder casts an enchantment spell.
Only a 20th-level wizard devoted to the arcane tradition of enchantment may attempt to attune to this staff. This can only occur after they have gained the approval of Mystra as the next Enchanter of the Eight and wielder of Charm, typically by completing a grand quest on her behalf. The staff dramatically increases the wielder's magical capabilities, particularly in the use of enchantment magic. However, the wielder cannot stray too far from the staff or suffer sever consequences.
Once a creature attunes to Charm, the attunement cannot be broken unless the wielder dies or the staff is destroyed.
