Divination in Material Form

This staff represents the power of divination, a fragment of Mystra's spirit coalesced into material form. The city of Manteia was founded on the spot this staff appeared to spring forth from the ground of Winderia. It appears as a smooth oaken staff topped with a floating, perfectly translucent crystal ball.
Only a 20th-level wizard devoted to the arcane tradition of divination may attempt to attune with this staff. This can only occur after they have gained the approval of Mystra as the next Diviner of the Eight and wielder of Vision, typically by completing a grand quest on her behalf. The staff dramatically increases the wielder's magical capabilities, particularly in the use of divination magic. However, the wielder cannot stray too far from the staff or suffer severe consequences.
Once a creature attunes to Vision, the attunement cannot be broken unless the wielder dies or the staff is destroyed.
