Grand Sand Sea
Grand? Maybe. Sea? Not really. Sand? Bloody hate it.You could hear stories of either a prosperous green country or endless sand dunes with nothing in sight, and they would both be about the same place. Highly populated in some parts and completely desolate in all others, it is homeland of Kosaris and seat of power to the Ardenian Empire. One of the things the Grand Sand Sea is most renowned for would be the Misty Falls. An enormous complex of waterfalls bringing entire rivers down from heavens itself, it governs much of the region's geography and ecosystem. The vast mountain range surrounding the Misty Falls also acts as the region's natural borders and its protection.
Ecosystem
Not much life exists outside of Misty Falls and rivers through which its water runs towards the ocean. These are green and diverse lands, on which almost all of the region's population lives. That becomes increasingly less so the further away you go from the nearest water source, and soon you could find yourself starting at sand for miles to go and no sign of human presence. Some clans can still be met this way, often consisting of people who could no longer afford arable land to feed themselves. They fight to survive in the Grand Sand Sea's many deserts, herding camels and often living a nomadic lifestyle.
Localized Phenomena
The Grand Sand Sea is perhaps the region most affected by the Gracious Wind. Believed to be born on top of the Misty Falls, it causes all things supernatural to lose their powers and turn ordinary again. It is also believed to bring prosperity to lands, although other people argue that it is the waters of the Misty Falls themselves that cause it. The two phenomena seem closely related and predominantly present at the same places.
