The Fall of Lassensta/The Creation of Magic
There he fell, as a burning ball of light, shooting through the sky towards the mortals of Wold. Summary
In the Year of 6000 1E, Lassenta, the god of arcane (little understood powers) created the Exchartics, a cruel and unmerciful creature for unknown reasons. The All Father god, punishes Lassenta by plunging him with a spear, which sends him falling down to Wold. In the process of him falling to Wold, his body began to break apart and fall into different parts of the world. The larger pieces fell into different locations. These locations are now present day Guilnile, Airgona, the Northern Coast, the Southern Continent, and an unknown location for the last major piece. The smaller pieces of Lassenta fell across the entire World, creating a large meteor shower which changed the very landscape of the world.
The Creation of Arcane Wardens
From the sheer power and presence of these fallen pieces of Lassenta, new creatures would begin to form. Smaller energies would be formed from the pieces, taking physical form. From these pieces came the four elements, Fire Deamons, Earth Titans, Water Triumphs, and Wind Stans. These creatures would begin to wander the land, further changing the landscape of Wold.Magic is Created
Beings of Wold would soon interact with these creatures. They would either befriend them and become allies, living among the Arcane Wardens, or fight against the Arcane Wardens, and slay them. After hundreds of years, with much interaction with the Arcane Wardens, their presence would soon transfer into the beings of Wold, gaining them very small amounts of Arcane power, which would allow them to use magic.The Fall of The Arcane Wardens
Overtime, the Arcane Wardens would begin to lose their presence and power. This caused them to lose control over their own bodies, causing flooding, fire, earthquakes, and storms. This caused the humans to hunt the failing Arcane Wardens, which decreased their population even farther. The Arcane Wardens would eventually die out after hundreds of years of coexistence with the beings of Wolds.Spread
It is near common knowledge by every scholar that the legend of the fall of Lassenta did in fact, happen, and that is how magic and arcane powers came to be in Wold. Several art pieces and statues exist, depicting the fall and breaking of Lassenta as he fell. In almost any library or college, many different novels can be found of the legend of the fall of Lassenta. It is commonly taught in history of magic academies across Roscrea.
Variations & Mutation
One major variation of the legend, is that Lassenta survived his fall from above, and that he was plunged deep into the sea, and to the very core of Wold. Some believe that Lassenta now resides in the core of the planet, and is eternally trapped there, only able to be summoned with very certain rituals.
