Born a human orphan and raised as Anothrin Ulvon (Gnome for Gigantic Man) in an isolated gnome village, Noth grew up feeling like an absolute outcast. Though he'll always love his adopted parents, the rest of the village very much disliked his presence, finding it to be an insult to their way of life.   His parents taught him to appreciate all life and directed him on a path to become a healer in the Kingdom of Volkova when he came of age. That path, he found, was riddled with deceivers, liars, and nonsense. After years studying to become a Cleric for the Temple of Pelor, he publically shamed and outed several corrupt priests and clerics higher up in the chain of command. This act led to him being ostracized by his own temple and the other temples of the pantheon. He was barred from further involvement as a Cleric.   Before too long, however, a representative with the Inquisition approached him, telling him that the Royal Inquisition was always in need of faith followers who sought to keep the faiths of the Choir Orthodox honest and true. This offer and his desire for more knowledge led him to a path of wizardry and martial training in support of the Royal Inquisition.   Eventually, he became a partners and friends with fellow Inquisitor Ivan Volkov, a royal with a far distant connection to the throne. Noth taught Ivan some basic Gnomic, and Ivan gave Noth the nickname "Fedhin", Gnomic for "friend, ally", and Fedhin gave Ivan the nickname "Adrum", Gnomic for "hammer".   Now, the two unrelated brothers of the Inquisition find themselves assigned to a Guild newly founded by a small group of accidental heroes who'd vanquished demon spawned by some psychotic cultists. The Grand Inquisitor is alarmed by the extent of damage the relatively unknown cult was capable of dealing to Volkova and wants a more attentive focus on the going-ons of rural Guilds.   To say the least, Fedhin is quite chagrined by this assignment.
