The Duke of Windsor is the only known politician of the town of Windsor, after the sudden death of Unnamed Late King of Windsor. The Duke sent the party an invitation with a Windsor knot on it. The invitation was dropped off to the "wrong room" at the unnamed Windsor tavern that the party was staying at, due to Maha of the Shoe switching the room numbers for safety. Accompanied by a gift bag that contained a piece of bread and crumbs, it looks like the majority of the food was eaten already possibly by the goblin, BurpSneeze, who delivered it. It smelt of lavender, the note read: "New entities, you are invited to have an audience with Duke Windsor tomorrow at sunrise." After closer inspection, Wilbur Gord found that there was a different time and place on the back of the invitation. Once Wilbur Gord discovered it and read over it, it burst into confetti. The Duke of Windsor doesn't seem to use ordinary stationery, ever. The party learns from Number 7 (disguised as Ebenezer'), that the Duke is asking all artificers to come to the castle, including the elite delegation of Drow artificers from Il Uzul. This is very curious, since Drow artificers are not known to leave the capitol unless it is okay'd by the matriarch.
