Liveilian

Liveilians are a hardy woodland inclined folk. Extremely superstitious and cautious in their approach to taming and respecting the wild lands themselves. They are inherently filled with wanderlust and curiosity. The ideals of freedom and independence are important to them, and feel a need to travel at the least within the boundaries of the Duchy of Lilyveil for a few years before settling down. They are used to the harsh winters of Lilyveil and as such do well in the wilds of the world during cold winters, much like the Brevan. Hunting and trapping isn't a lifestyle for them so much as a cultural necessity. They are experts in maintaining their kills pelts and meat and had mastered preservation techniques such as jarring and canning by the year 906. Whether they choose to or not, much of their kills that they sell go the the House of Lily to be canned and jarred and sent to nations such as the Republic of Dolene and the Republic of Idland, to be used as long lasting rations for their soldiers. In truth, the wild living Liveilians are among some of the best woodsmen on Mythris, especially those that settle or hunt near the Dusk Vale in the east of the country.   Much like their Vedanian counterparts, Liveilians are tall, with males being anywhere between 5'9 to 6'2 common. However, they are bulkier and more broad shouldered than Vedanians and more inclined to the being in tune with the wilds of the world. They have pale skin like Vedanians, but have anywhere from dark brown hair to ashen hair as opposed to the raven hair of their neighbors.   Racial Rules: +2 Wisdom (replaces human bonus feat), favored weapon musket, +2 Survival and Perception.   Special Item: The Lily Snare was a device designed during the War of Lily and Frost in 850 to slow down the advance of the House of Frost during the frigid winter. It is engineered to hold a creature or enemy soldier in place whilst the operator ambushes his/her prey at distance. It is an easy to use/reset device. While not effective against large creatures such as elk or bear, it works well against lightly armored warriors.   Lily Snare: Type mechanical; Perception DC 18; Disable Device DC 18; Reset is Manual Effect: Attack +10 melee (2d6+3 sharp jaws in the shape of a lily spring shut around the creature’s ankle and halve the creature’s base speed (or hold the creature immobile if the trap is attached to a solid object the creature can escape with a DC 18 Disable Device check, DC 20 Escape Artist check, or a DC 22 Strength check
