Personal history
Izolde is King Taylan Talat's first wife, and the mother of his oldest child, Prince Asil Talat. A marriage of alliance, her family brought many men to the military forces of the budding Kingdom of Ostar which they desperately needed; Izolde was the oldest child in her family but as any of her brothers could inherit, and none could bear the new King sons, she was married off to the King-to-be by her parents quickly.
Thankfully for both parties, they are genuinely fond of each other. It may not have been a love match, but it is believed by historians that Taylan and Izolde were genuinely in love. She was also quite content to not have to manage the Royal household and to leave such matters to Taheri Talat, leaving her free to ride alongside her husband during his war campaigns when it wasn't too dangerous. Izolde was an accomplished horsewoman and served as a battlefield medic many long seasons of campaign while Taylan was fighting. When not accompanying him, she often worked charity and in a healer's role at home in the city, or trained her own horses.
Sexuality
While it was believed that Izolde and Taylan were genuinely in love, that still did not rule her out as a contender for speculation as to being one of Taheri's lovers. It was not uncommon for there to be other young men and women of questionable status in and out of the Royal household, and whether Taylan, his sister, or one of his wives was entertaining the concubines was uncertain.
Education
A child of wealth and means, Izolde was well educated.
