Session 4 Report

General Summary

This session picked up on the morning of October 23^rd after the party went their separate ways, as decided on during the previous session.

Clayton and Auri

Clayton and Auri left Quarion Ofandrus's mansion to go find the Yuan-Ti woman who they had encountered the day before and whose lower half had been sacrificed to Typhon. They were passing through a small marketplace when they encountered a Dwarven boy who claimed to know where the Yuan-Ti woman was. In exchange for some money to start his fortune, the boy led them to the trail of blood Clayton had followed the night before, but the Yuan-Ti woman was nowhere to be found. Screams in the direction of a fresher trail of blood grabbed Clayton and Auri's attention. Following the new trail, they came out into a square.
The village square was empty, apart from two mechanical men that were dragging two dwarves to a carriage. To Clayton and Auri's surprise, inside the carriage was the Yuan-Ti woman and

, who called for Clayton and Auri to help them. Clayton and Auri fought the robots and helped free the two dwarf captives, but after sustaining heavy damage they decided the fight wasn't one they could win. Concerned for her life and worried that the robots may be slavers, Auri fled for the mountains. Clayton successfully convinced one of the robots that he was willing to help improve the robots' battle capabilities, and was allowed to freely board the carriage. The other robot was unconvinced, but was destroyed by the first robot after trying to continue to attack Clayton. As the carriage left, Clayton put his arm around

and hoped that he may be able to somehow defeat these robots from the inside.

Faenala and Azazel

Meanwhile, at the same time that Clayton and Auri were passing through the marketplace, Faenala and Azazel hid behind the fence near Mme. Silveraxe's manor and kept an eye out to make sure nobody left. After a bit of time, Mme. Silveraxe and a cultist in a red capirote came to the window and scanned for any sign of the Adventurer's Guild. Mme. Silveraxe decided a specialist would be needed to hunt them down away from Quarion, and left to go find Vodos the paladin.
Concerned that their safety was at risk with only two people, Faenala and Azazel devised a plan to tip the scales in their favor. As Azazel barred the manor's front door, Faenala climbed up to and broke through a third floor window. Up on the third floor, she used some tools to craft a bomb and then ziplined out of the manor via a rope attached to an arrow. The bomb completely blew up the third floor of the manor and set the second floor on fire. In the commotion, some cultists panicked and began fleeing through the living room window that had been broken last session.
The first to come out was a nervous white-hooded cultist who was swiftly killed and hung from an oil lamppost as a warning to the other cultists. The second to come out was a red-hooded cultist who tried to attack with his scimitar but was almost immediately killed and decapitated by Faenala. His headless body was thrown into Mme. Silveraxe's living room.
The third person to step out of the window was a Shadar-Kai woman by the name of Del Birel. Del had nothing to do with the People of the Pendulum and had just been in the hideout to steal some of Mme. Silveraxe's valuables. Faenala recognized Del as the art thief she suspected responsible for her boyfriend's murder, but Del seemed to not know who he was. Faenala and Del agreed to meet tomorrow at the zeppelin bay to talk. Del then left.
The fourth person to step out of the window was Vodos, who immediately pulled out his trident to kill Faenala and Azazel. Faenala and Azazel tried to put up a fight but quickly realized they were completely outmatched and so attempted to flee. Vodos chased after them, but thanks to some luck and some cunning on the part of Azazel, the two managed to independently escape Vodos' pursuit. Faenala had initially thought to find Lord Cacophony's speech in order to meet up with And and Fleek, but after rejoining with Azazel the two decided it would be best for the time being to lay low at Quarion's mansion.
