Session 3 Report

General Summary

In this session, the new members of the Adventurer's Guild had their first battle as part of the organization. The spirit summoned by the People of the Pendulum last session attacked the players, requiring them to defend themselves and carry out the task given to them by Quarion Ofandrus.
The battle generally went quite well, although Auri was briefly knocked unconscious by one of the cult members. In addition to slaying the spirit, the party managed to kill two of the four cultists present, a Dwarven cultist with an orange capirote and a Lizardfolk cultist with a white capirote. The third, another white-hooded cultist, this one a half-orc, fled into Mme. Silveraxe's nearby manor and tried to hide in a third floor closet. However, Fleek gave chase and after a bit of investigation he found and killed the cultist. The fourth cultist, a green-hooded Changeling by the name of But, was captured and taken back to Quarion's mansion for interrogation.
But was very reluctant at first, but after successful persuasion by And and Clayton, But finally decided to leave the People of the Pendulum and help the Adventurer's Guild. But explained that Mme. Silveraxe was the regional leader of the People of the Pendulum in Leviathan Lake and that the spirit had been summoned as a trap in order to kill the fledgling Adventurer's Guild members and as many other good individuals as could be taken with them. She also revealed that the cult's local hideout was underneath Mme. Silveraxe's manor, although she refused to say what the cult was up to down there.
And developed a particular fondness for But, particularly after But revealed her personal insecurities over being not just a Changeling but a Changeling that was born a Tiefling. The two quickly became intimate, and they had a long conversation into the night.
The following morning, the party tried to figure out what to do with But, who felt like she would have a huge target on her back for her crimes and for leaving the People of the Pendulum. The party concluded that she could be sent to work at the place of one of Clayton's associates in Pommeberg to the north in New Gladus. They decided over Icarus' pancakes that the best course of action would be to put her on the next zeppelin headed north, which would leave at 3:00pm that afternoon.
A commotion outside led Icarus to reveal that the highly regarded philanthropist and highly controversial philosopher Lord Cacophony was visiting Leviathan Lake to deliver a speech that morning. Intrigued, And, But, and Fleek decided to go see the speech. Faenala and Azazel decided to keep watch on Mme. Silveraxe's manor for the time being, and Clayton and Auri decided to go check in on the Yuan-Ti woman who had been sliced in half by the cult.
